Freezer Ready Healthy Green Energizing Smoothie!

November 10, 2017

We don’t know about you but we are always in a crazy rush in the morning for work.

Eating healthy sometimes means we have to do a little prep work so that when we are in a rush, we have something nourishing handy instead of a sugary snack.  Whether it be rushing home from work to get the kids off to their baseball or track meet or getting yourself to that yoga class you promised you wouldn’t miss because your abs are starting to look great, it’s really helpful to have something guilt free quick and ready to go!

Your body will thank you when you pour this power punch in. The avocado and hemp hearts will give you some healthy fats, protein and fiber to keep your beautiful face glowing. The cucumber will add some hydration and B vitamins to keep you energized and ready to fend off stress. A pop of delicious basil adds a source of vitamin K which is essential for proper blood clotting.

You won’t be disappointed with this healthy green, refreshing, cool and energizing smoothie that you can make ahead of time. Just mix up the ingredients and pop them in the freezer!

All you need to do is add a little almond milk, yogurt and honey, blend and voila you are ready to go! It’s “easy being green.”

  • 4 cups of greens (kale, spinach etc.)

  • 1 cup packed fresh basil

  • 2 ripe bananas

  • take out one freezer pack and add the following for one serving

  • 1/2 cup plain coconut yogurt

  • 1 tbsp hemp hearts

  • 1 tsp honey or 1 pitted dates

  • 1 cup unsweetend vanilla almond milk or water to desired thickness

Instructions:

  1. Divide avocado, greens, basil, cucumber, ginger and bananas evenly among 4 freezer bags or containers and freeze.

  2. When ready for smoothie, place 1 cup almond milk, 1/2 cup plain coconut yogurt, 1 tbsp of hemp hearts, 1 tsp honey and contents of one smoothie pack in blender and blend until smooth. Add water or more almond milk if too thick.
