Chocolate Raspberry Milkshake

This is one of our favorite breakfast recipes - it tastes amazing, is super easy, and looks pretty too. It has a great balance of tart raspberries and sweet banana. There's just enough chocolate to taste it without overpowering the other flavors. Taste it and tell us what you think!

Chocolate Raspberry Milkshake (makes 1 milkshake) Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen raspberries

  • 1 teaspoon of sugar (optional - leave it out to have more of a tart milkshake)

  • 2 tablespoons of water

  • 2 frozen bananas

  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder

  • 1/4 cup water

Directions:

  1. In a tough blender, combine the raspberries, sugar and 2 tablespoons of water. Puree the raspberries in the blender for 1-2 minutes; the longer you do this, the fewer raspberry seeds will show up in the milkshake.

  2. Pour the raspberry puree out into another container and rinse the blender.

  3. Refill the blender with the banana, cocoa powder and 1/4 cup of water. Pulse the blender until the bananas have the smooth consistency of a milkshake. (You may have to stop the blender a few times to stir the frozen banana bits.)

  4. Put the chocolate-banana slush in a glass while occasionally pouring in some of the raspberry puree. Add a straw and enjoy!
